OK, time for the serious bit. All of us want to do our bit to minimise our impact on the environment, but for some of us it’s also a business imperative: from the sourcing of raw materials to make our products to the choices we make in packaging them up.

Paperboard (typically 70-90%)
Low density polyethylene (typically 10-25%)
Aluminium foil (about 5%, only in long-life or aseptic packages)

Let’s not forget that cartons are extremely resource-efficient. The unique make up of cartons means they are not only able to protect the contents from light and air, but also use the minimum amount of materials to make the package itself.

And there’s more. Choosing cartons over other forms of packaging also brings efficiencies for transport. As the packaging material is delivered to the filling sites in reel format, one truck can transport enough packaging material for nearly a million one-litre cartons. It would take over 50 trucks to deliver a million formed bottles of the same size.
